SBA loan
Definition
An SBA loan is a bank loan partially guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration, offering long terms and low rates in exchange for a lengthy application process.
The government guarantee reduces the lender's risk, which is what allows the long amortization and low pricing. The trade-off is documentation and time — commonly 30 to 90 days from application to funding, with substantially more paperwork than a working capital facility.
SBA and short-term working capital are not really competitors; they solve different problems on different clocks.
