An origination fee is an amount charged for arranging a facility, commonly deducted from the funded amount rather than billed separately.
Entirely normal, and entirely reasonable to expect stated plainly. What matters is whether it comes out of your funding — because if it does, your effective cost is higher than the quoted rate implies.
